Task answer

Some, including myself, argue to demonstrate that having an old population is an endowment for society, while others point out that it is not the case. The people who live at a later age have numerous positive effects on society. To begin with, the working elderly must have had a wide array of hands-on experiences during consecutive years of dealing with their occupation. This is to say, the adept old would share their accumulative knowledge from their occupation with the new generation. Therefore, society should not spend a huge amount of energy in re-experiencing the second-to-none heritage of working. If not for learning from the elderly, the advancement in technology would not come true now. Moreover, the older one is, the wiser one is in making political desicions. In other words, tolerating the trial and tribulation of working has taught the elderly to solve vital political problems effectively. Hence, this is part and parcel of society's good that can be benefited from its old, wise members. On the other hand, an ageing population brings about several serious problems. First off, a huge amount of money should be spent on the medical costs of the old, which will impose financial burdens on the shoulders of taxpayers. Furthermore, keeping the elderly poses a major threat to the mental health of family members, who should encounter a problem of caring the old members. In conclusion, the pros of enjoying an aged population do outweigh its cons to a greater extent. This is because the elderly are wiser in political matters and more adept in their work in comparison with the young.
