The allocation of the health budget should be designated to health education and preventive measures rather than treatment. I completely agree with the author's statement owing to having beneficial effects in the long run. To begin with, spending money on prevention would be more cost-effective in the long run. The National Health Service (NHS), one of the four healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, made a paradigm shift from treatment to education in its approach. Thanks to this strategy, many who struggled with diabetes-related diseases had been taught to eat alternative nutritional food, thus the organization could save more money for future research based on viral illnesses. If not for taking preventive measures, English people could not have recovered from COVID-19 readily, and researchers would not have a better perspective for their findings on the next viral diseases. However, there are some challenges with the prevention-focused budget. Some could dispute this strategy by saying that treatment-focused spending should be prioritized due to emergency conditions that some people are in. Yet, to solve their current problem, one should have a backsight to it. Not only will it solve due to a better understanding of the ongoing problem, but also it help to find the root of diseases in people's everyday lives, which is strikingly hard to measure. That is why we need the budget to spend on research to find their causes. In conclusion, to support a prevention-oriented focus, I have strongly argued to demonstrate that it would have long-lasting effects on healthcare systems. As this strategy holds water, I highly recommend it to all possible countries that can benefit from it.
