Task answer

It is argued that the most significant objective of science ought to be increase people's standard of living. I completely agree with the author's statement because theoretical science has nothing to with people's lives and hands-on, practical science help people to experience a better quality of life. Science would have a pragmatic effect on people's living conditions. The conditions are studied by scientists and experts to not only solve problems but also boost the quality of life for human beings. Research findings confirm that economics, for instance, offers a wide range of principles to solve many people's quotidian life issues. If not for economists' knowledge about the behavior of economic trends in the early of this century, The United States of America would not now benefit from a booming economy. It can be seen that science goals can be helpful for a better life condition. Admittedly, theoretical advancements in science may broaden mankind's horizon about the world. Theoretical physics findings demonstrate how one can see more about their locus in the universe. For example, had not Hobble's telescope been built to make progress in our understanding of where we are living, one would not have had this blessing to see a vast number of galaxies. However, these kinds of advancements do not have a positive and direct impact on many people's day-to-day lives. In conclusion, science should set goals to be in service of people's lives as the most vital one. Although theoretical progress opens doors for one's mind to see the world aesthetically, the basic amenities should be prioritized.
