Some college students argue that studying more subjects beside those they major in is more beneficial, while others think that they should focus on these main subjects in order to boost the skills and experience in their major disciplines. Although both school of thoughts are reasonable, I agree more with the latter one. On the one hand, learning more subjects is safer for the future career options. Indeed, a student studying many subjects can consequently get the credits of those from courses in their university, which could be considered when they applied for a job, providing them more opportunities to find jobs in the disciplines they don't major in. For instance, a student who studies in the Physics faculty but has a credit of Applied Mathematics could be a economist if they can't pursue Physics in the future. As a result, learning many subjects would be the way to prepare some back up choices of future occupations. On the other hand, students who focus on their major subjects are confident enough to pursue their favorite disciplines and aim for the top of those. By spending their time on fewer subjects, they could enhance their qualification as a solid foundation for the future job promotion. Moreover, they can also use their time saved from studying other subjects to build their high scores of these subjects and do some activities related to them, making up their profile to apply to big companies or scholarships of master course in prestigious universities. As a consequence, students who focus on their major could become professionals in the field they dream of, providing them with job satisfaction. In conclusion, although studying many subjects and get their credits is safer plan for future career, I would accept the risk to focus on my major in order to become a expert in the discipline I desired for.
