School leavers lack of job is a serious and prevalent problem in many areas of the world. Fortunately, there are various measures that can be undertaken to alleviate this problem. From the citizens' side, it is worth considering education policies. This is because for youths, who usually had little to no employment history, possessing good academic backgrounds or related experience can significantly boost their career opportunities. Thus, governments should focus on educational curriculums that strongly qualify them for industries. First, more vocational programs should be set up to provide students with practical skills, hence, their resumes will be competitive against older candidates with more professional experience. Moreover, there can be more scholarships allocated to technological studies or majors that are in the country's development plan. This will encourage more learners to join the field, leading to a more equally distributed workforce, in addition to increasing the number of professionally trained workers for the rising industries. Having discussed the problem from the young people's perspective, it is also advisable to address the issue by enacting economic policies. For one, governments can propose partnerships with industries, granting funds or privilege in exchange for the annual hiring of young workers. This benefits both parties of the agreement: the country reducing its school leaver unemployment rate, and the industries have increased power and workforce to expand their operations. Furthermore, organizations should set up funds to encourage entrepreneurship, which will bring huge advantages to youths owing to their resourcefulness and creativity and help solving the problem tremendously. In conclusion, I believe we can mitigate the lack of job in school leavers by taking measures in education programs and economic laws. This is a worthwhile undertaking, as it increases the livelihood of citizens and can potentially boost the economy considerably.
