Task answer

The table shows the data about the opening date, route length, and the number of passengers transferring per year by the underground railway system in six major cities of the world. Overall, as it is clear from the table, the oldest railway system belongs to London, which opened in the year 1863, and the newest one is in Los Angeles, which opened in the year 2001. The longest route is also in London, and Kyoto, with 11 kilometers of route, has the smallest one. The Tokyo transfers the most number of people per year, and it is 1927 million. Kyoto has the lowest number of transferring passengers among these six cities. According to the table, the oldest railway systems were established in London, Paris, and Tokyo. These three cities have the longest routes and also transfer the highest number of passengers per year. It seems the older it is, the longer it is and the more passengers it carries. On the other hand, Washington DC, Kyoto, and Los Angeles have newer Underground railway systems. They have established smaller routes and therefore they transfer a lower number of people per year. After Kyoto's railway system, the smallest one is in Los Angeles, it is 28 kilometers and carries fifty million people per year.
