Task answer

The outlay provides us with information on the changes in Chorleywood village from 1868 to 1994. Overall, there were four main periods of development: 1868 to 1883, 1883 until 1922, 1922 to 1970, and 1970 to 1994. Western areas were expanded earlier than the Eastern parts, corresponding to the newly built traffic lines. The two main roads were the groundwork for Chorleywood. The first modification to the village was an area close to the main road that ran north-south in 1868-1883. Afterwards, the railway and Chorleywood station were built to the south of the aforementioned establishment and intersected the same street. It was followed by the setting up of a new part, also southern to the first, just to the east of the main road and expanded across the railway. Notably, the period of 1922 and 1970 marked a east-west expansion of the village. Indeed, two developed areas appeared southern of the railway and flanked the 1883-1922 land. The years 1970 to 1994 were when Chorleywood had the fastest development rate. This was due to the newly added motorway in 1970. Five novel establishments were observed on both sides of the motorway, with two northern to the main road that ran east-west, and three close to the railroad.
