Task answer

The diagram depicts the transformation of a public library through the floor plan over the 20-year period. Overall, it is readily apparent that the area has been renovated extensively, witnessing fundamental changes to the area, including the layout of the place and the facilities. It is also clear that none of the facilities remain unchanged over the surveyed period. 20 years ago, there were chairs and two round-shaped tables placed in the center of the area. On both sides of the tables, places for adult to read books were constructed, with the fiction to the East of the map and the non-fiction on the other side. Moreover, it had a place for children to read books at the upper right corner, and a recreational area with CDs, videos, and computer games at the left one. Additionally, people can buy tickets and return books at the enquiry desk in the South-East area of the map, and read newspaper or magazines at the reading room on the left-hand side. In present, the tables and chairs in the center of the map have been removed, and the entertaining place was demolished to make room for storytelling events with two sofas and children's fiction books. Also, there has been a destruction of the kidbooks area, with a construction of a lecture room at the same place. In addition, the adult fiction books area has been reconstructed to the east of the map, and next to an information desk, three machines for individuals' services. On the left side, a place of all reference books were built and replaced the old adult fiction books. To the bottom, there has been an addition of a computer room on the right side, and a new cafe on the right one, replacing the old reading room and the enquiry desk.
