Task answer
Extensive rubbsih production has become an alarming problem globally which needs to be addressed by the governments immediately to reduce the long-run consequences of this issue. a solution to this problem cannot be achieved within a short period of time, rather this will requirec long-term commitments from governments and policymakers across the globe.
Rubbish production is associated with non-sustaiable development policies undertaken by countries globally. while 20th century observed a development shift globally, the priority of growth surpassed the concern of environment and protect the world for the future generations. As a consequence, industrilisation and urbanisation leading to associated rubbish production started to become a threat to the existance of the mankind.
However, since the beginning of the 21st century, the necessity of reducing rubbish and proper waste management was realised and different multilateral platforms came on board to work together in order to make this world a better place. In this regard, governments need to play pivotal role and reassess countries' rubbish management policies acoordingly. for example, governments can impose strict regulatory policies like increase of tax burden as a copmpensation to polluting environment, making licencing of more rubbish producing industries costly, undertaking feasible and efficinet rubbish management system etc. Various countries accorss tha globe including the Nordic countries, Japan etc. have performed examplary in this regard. However, the effectiveness of these solutions can not be visible in a short term period, rather needs long-stranding governance and commitment.
Rubbish production was consuidered a bi-product of development journey of a country which now is being seen in a different way as now sustainability and development go hand in hand. Thus, importance of addressing this issue is immense and it requires an immediate interventiona nd commitments by the governments.
