The maps illustrate the current layout of an industrial area in Norbiton and proposed plans for its redevelopment. Overall, the area is set to be transformed from a purely industrial zone into a mixed-use residential neighbourhood with various community facilities. At present, the area is dominated by factories situated on both sides of a central roundabout. To the north, there is a river separating the industrial area from farmland. Several factories are also positioned along roads branching off the roundabout According to the future development plan, all factories will be replaced with housing and community amenities. A new bridge will be constructed across the river to provide access to additional housing in the northern part. Furthermore, a new playground will be built near the existing housing in the northeast, while a school is planned for the far east side, catering to the local residents. Additional services include a medical centre to the southeast of the roundabout and a shopping area replacing the factories to the southwest. The central roundabout remains, but a smaller roundabout will be added further south to connect with a new road leading to these new facilities.
