Task answer

Nowadays , many are living a lot longer that other generations, which has an impact on our community in both positive and negative sides . On one hand , having a large group of elders in our societies comes with several challenges, for example , most elders rely on health insurance to pay for medical bills as well as other senior discounts , so some of those benefits can be costly on the government or on the families of the old individual. As a result , many insurance companies go bankrupt and they are forced to end their companies , or the family is stuck with big loans that they can’t pay in a year or two , which also puts the family at risk of a financial crisis , or even worse going into a lawsuit with hospitals and clinics , because their bills are adding up and they can’t pay them all at once . In 1981 , the UN health program did a case study on the estimated debt caused by chronic health problems that old people are suffering from , it shows that almost 50% of debts in the world are linked to elders and their treatments and medications . On the other hand , having seniors in a community can be very helpful in many aspects , such as utilizing their expertise in any different fields of work , like professors and doctors and much more , their opinion and skill are crucial when professionals can’t find solutions in their own fields , for example , in 1996 , a doctor named John Zekkens , aged 80 years old at that time , cured a girl from a very rare heart condition , when he own doctors could not figure out what was wrong with her . Although many agree that having immense amounts of aging people is considered bad in our society, I think that their presence aids us a lot more than it disturbing us.
