Task answer
The diagram provides information on detailed progress for manufacturing sugar from sugar cane. Overall, this linear process contains four major steps; growing, harvesting, crushing, and drying with cooling.
Before being able to extract sugar from sugar canes, people have to wait for 12 to 18 months for a plant to grow. Once finishing growing, they are ready to be harvested by either machines or human labours. While machines such as trackers cut off the whole sugar canes at once, human labours needs an extra work of removing leaves first before cutting plants' bodies. The cut sugar canes then undergo next step, crushing, to become a form of juice which, shortly later, will be purified by usage of limestone filter.
If juice becomes clean enough, it goes to evaporator where the heat is applied in order for boiling to happen. Due to the hot temperature, juice will convert to sticky syrup through evaporation of water contained in juice. Shortly after formation of syrup, it goes to centrifuge so that sugar crystals can be extracted from syrup. Separated sugar crystals are now ready to be dried out and cooled down to become fine sugar.
