Task description
The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write a minimum of 150 words.

Task answer
The table presents data on consumer spending percentages across five different countries in 2002, categorized into food, drinks and tobacco; clothing and footware; and leisure and education.
Overall, all countries spent the largest proportion of their income on food, drinks and tobacco, while expenditure on leisure and education was consistently the lowest. Turkey recorded the highest percentage in two of the three categories, whereas Sweden consistently spent the least across most areas, except for clothing and footware.
In terms of food, drinks and tobacco, Turkey had the highest spending at 32.14%, followed by Ireland at 28.91%. Spain and Italy reported moderately lower percentages at 18.80% and 16.36%, respectively, while Sweden spent the least at just 15.77%.
Expenditure on clothing and footware was the highest in Italy at 9.00%, whereas Sweden again recorded the lowest at 5.40%. Ireland, Turkey, and Spain shared approximately similar figures ranging from 6.43% to 6.63%. All countries consistntly spent the lowest proportion on leisure and education, with Turkey ranking first at 4.35%. Spain spent the least at 1.98%, while Ireland, Italy and Sweden fell in between, all spending below 4%.
