The two maps illustrate the Norbiton industrial area now, and how it will be developed in the future. Overall, today the area is designated for industrial use with only factories around the main square, while in the future the area will become residential, fostering amenities for housholds. Notably, the constructions will be extended to the northern side of the road. Today, the area is used for industrial purposes with factories on all sides of the square and the main road. There are no facilities on either sides of the river or the road connecting to the town. In contrast, in the future the area is planned to become residential, with the roads extending to the other side of the river with a bridge,providing more residential areas, as well as to the left side of the square neighboring the town. There will also be amenities for the locals such as playground, school, medical center, and shops. There will be another square constructed to the south of the main one, for easier transition to the main road reaching the town.
