Task answer

There is a growing concern about the production of trash by human activities, which has increased significantly and can have far-reaching consequences. This essay will examine the causes of this trend and propose viable solutions. A variety of elements contribute to the amount of rubbish discharged; one major cause is the rise of greenwashing and consumerism. Due to products being advertised with environmental friendliness propaganda, it has affected customers' purchasing psychology. For instance, the H&M fashion brand has introduced many collections in just a few months with an eco-friendly label and the garment collecting program. However, rather than being recycled into new items, most of the used clothing that customers send to them is exported to developing countries, where it is either burned or disposed of in landfills. Additionally, selling too many designs can lead to customers purchasing more, even though they only wear them occasionally. As a result, it has become a socialized fast fashion phenomenon and has had a direct impact on the environment. To combat these challenges, governments should consider various remedies. A key strategy is reducing waste through strict regulations and public awareness campaigns. Initially, they could impose higher taxes on products with excessive packaging and provide incentives for companies to adopt eco-friendly materials. Afterwards, introducing strict recycling laws and investing in waste management infrastructure would encourage citizens to sort and recycle their rubbish. Moreover, governments could launch nationwide campaigns to promote a “reduce, reuse, recycle” mindset, educating the population about the environmental and economic benefits of reducing waste. In conclusion, the increase in rubbish production results from overconsumption and greenwashing. By enforcing environmental regulations, improving recycling systems, and raising public awareness, governments can play a crucial role in tackling this pressing problem.
