Task answer

In the recent years, celebrities have boosted their popularity due to the surge of their visibility throughout the internet. This led many of these famous people to be constantly followed by professional photographers everywhere they go. Some individuals claim that these attitudes are irresponsible, others state that, as long as society is interested in celebrities’s life, these photographers perform a good job. We will discuss in this essay both points of view and I will share my thoughts on them. On one hand, those who defend these photographers claim that it is thanks to the photographers that celebrities maintain their popularity. If these workers didn’t follow them, society would just loose their interest in famous people. For instance, many celebrities’ popularity, such as the popularity of «The Kardashians», skyrocketed as they knew how to take advantage of those interested in their lives. They knew how to cooperate with photographers so society kept engaged with their lives. On the other hand, we find those who state that these photographers attitudes are irresponsible and inmoral as long as they make a living around the problems of celebrities. In fact, the most viral posts of magazines such as «Hola.com» in Spain are those related with divorces and deaths. In addition, in order to boost their posts’ performance, these journalists and photographers try to get as deep as possible into celebrities’ intimacy, what leads to a violation to their intimacy and to the intimacy of their beloved ones. In my view, I support the idea of intimacy as one of the main rights human beings have, therefore I disagree with those who claim that photographing famous is valid as these celebrities’ lives are of public interest. Although society might be hooked in celebrities’ lives, I state that a privacy violation cannot never be justified.
