It has long been debated whether children are given extensive amount of time to waste or their free time must be used for more academic work. Although both perspectives have their merits, I am firmly of the opinion that the former view carries more weigh, as discussed in following paragraphs. There are several arguments supporting my stance. The most significant one is that youngsters need time after school to relax their mind and body, because a healthy mental and physical health is necessary to excel any field of life. Thanks to leisure time, not only can children enjoy their favorite activities during this time, but they can also achieve good grades in the school performance by creating a balance in school work and free time. To illustrate, a study represents that in America, study hours for children are set to 8 hours everyday. With no exceptions this time will extend. This limit is to provide some free time to youngsters to calm their mind and body from pressure of study. This demonstrates how a free time period contributes positively in children's life. Another reason that reinforces the superiority of after study time is enhancing skills in other activities. With the help of extra time, children are able to focus on their interested activities such as football, cricket, cooking and so on. Consequently, this ensures that the first step of life goal is achieved, highlighting the indispensable nature of this approach. To exemplify, famous cricketer Yuvraj was used to spend his free time on practicing cricket which lead to him towards success. In conclusion, the arguments presented above clearly illustrate the advantages of free time in children's life. Thus, it can be confidently stated that children should spend free time on the activities of their interest.
