One of the most conspicuous trends of todays world is a colossal upsurge in the number of people thinking children should spend their free time on academic activities. As such, there are both merits and demerits of this trend, although I am of the opinion that the former outdo the latter, as discussed in upcoming paragraphs. There are a number of arguments in favor of my stance. The most preponderant one is that the free time must be spend on physical activities by children. Thanks to leisure time creativities, not only can youngsters enjoy their relaxing time, but they can also enhance their skills in physical activities such as cricket, basketball, football and so on. Their leisure time practices on these activities can make them big players in future. To illustrate, famous cricketer Yuvraj admitted in an interview that his present position in the cricket team is just because of his practice session after school time. Hence, it is apparent why children must have free time to spend on other things of their interest. Another aspect that makes the case for leisure time physical activities strengthen is that children need a balance between physical and educational activities. By spending free time on physical activities, students are able to achieve this balance in life which will enhance their academic grades as a result of more concentration due to their healthy minds and bodies. To exemplify, a survey conducted in America by UPBGC in 2023 revealed that 80% of children there spend at least 2 hours daily on some kind of physically demanding work which led to their great academic performance. This shows why physical activities hold much importance. To conclude, I believe the arguments outlined above succinctly illustrate the advantages of youngster's physical leisure time activities, and prove that it is an indispensable part of the world today.
