Task answer
One of the most conspicuous trends of today's world is a colossal upsurge in the number of vehicles on roads in especially in city areas, resulting in poor air quality. There are a wide range of factors that account for this rising concern, such as advancement in technology and excessive use of personal vehicles for time saving. In my opinion, this problem can be remedied by taking some initiatives by the authorities, national or international organizations, and individuals.
To begin with, the most significant reason behind this soaring concern is advanced technology in vehicles, which provides comfort and safety to the drivers. As a result, people have started driving more usual than required. Consequently, the number of private vehicles on the roads has increased. Thus, traffic jams are occuring and high toxins are releasing in the form of smoke. This is emposing negative effects on the atmosphere. To illustrate, a survey conducted by RODIES in 2023 in the U.S. revealed that in 1995, only 40% of the total population was using private transportation because of less safety tools installed in the cars. However, this percentage inclined to 90% in the year 2023. This survey clearly shows that the number of vehicles is increased on the streets, as compared to the previous times, and it has far-reaching impacts on the environment.
Steps to deal with this problem are many, but the primary one is that the government should implement some strict policies to spread awareness among the people to limit their use of vehicles. Besides, domestic and foreign firms should work together and conduct some surveys presenting real data of poor air quality caused by traffic congesions. Moreover, people should also step forward and take some measures by themselves to check on the overusage of private vehicles. They can do this by walking to the nearby areas or by using bi-cycles. Proper implementation of these steps can go a long way in curbing air pollution.
To conclude, I believe, concrete steps by the authorities, home or overseas organizations, and individuals can effectively strengthen the fight against the traffic and pollution in cities.
