Task answer

The charts illustrate the number of Japanese tourists who travelled internationally between 1985 and 1995, as well as the Australian percentage of the Japanese tourist market over the same time period. There was a steady incline in the number of international travels made by Japanese travelers. Furthermore, Australia's share gradually increased over the time period, with slight fluctuations. Initially, the year with the least amount of tourists from Japan was 1985 with approximately 5 million, compared to the 15 million of 1995, which was the largest number of tourists, nearly tripling in value. On the contrary, there was a decline of Japanese travelers from 1990 to 1991, dropping from 11 million to 10.5 million. Furthermore, there was a slow increase from 1992 to 1993, from approximately 11.9 million to 12 million excursioners. Moreover, the Australian proportion of the Japanese tourist market pre-1985 was non existent. However, the proportion rose to 6% by 1994. There were gradual inclines in the chart, with the exception of 1989 and 1994, where the values dipped from the previous respective 4.8% and 6.2% to 4.2% and 6%. Finally, there was no data provided in 1995.
