Task answer
A growing number of consumers are purchasing locally produced goods instead of imported goods due to desire of supporting theirs community's economy, reduce their environmental impacts and access high quality customized goods. A trend, that is generally considered positive for local economies and environmental sustainability.
While some might see the availability of imported goods as positive, the rise in local purchasing strenghten the wealth of the community. As it will have a direct effect on the number of jobs creation, which will undoubtely sustain a heathier economy. This multiplier effect will foster a more durable financial system as it will create a stream of new steady jobs. The shift towards local buying is widely viewed as a positive development for several reasons from environmental aspects because citizens will want to preserve a healthy pollution-free nature. Another reason might be due to the convenience as it will be easy to obtain anything with no such thing as waiting period. For example, in rwanda, the agricultural sector is the backbone of the country as it accounts for more than 50% of the jobs in the country. Consequently, the rate of Gross domestic product have risen by 12% in the last 10 years. Not only it created a wealthier society but it allowed to eradicate food scarcity.
To sum up, even though, imported goods can be beneficial as they usually bring new technologies and that since the beginning of the 20th century, Globalisation keeps offering a wealth of information and know-how in way that is so accessible to anyone around the globe. I believe that the overall focus on local goods promotes a stronger local economic base.
