Task answer
In most countries, students tend to have less time for activities and a fun lifestyle, with more emphasis on the importance of grades and studying. In my opinion, this is due to the sheer number of college attendants combined with the increased competitiveness within the job market. This, however, can be solved by better time management and shifting the focus to the importance of leisure time.
The most important and obvious cause of increased pressure to study is the high number of students and the narrower job market. Each year, the number of students within a certain field increases with more competition in maintaining a higher GPA and therefore more challenges within the job market. Students tend to focus on their credit score and marks in hopes of landing better job opportunities. For example, some studies have shown an increased number of college attendants in the U.S. from 1980 to 2020 by 30%. This eventually led to oversaturation and the need to stand out with higher credit, and therefore increased pressure to focus on studying while ignoring normal human life.
An important solution would be better time management with education for the youth about the importance of leisure to their health and mind. Time management can lead to better results with fewer deteriorating effects. This can include fabricating schedules and managing the number of hours needed for a certain task. Therefore, planning ahead of time can decrease stress and chaos while studying. It is also important to note how essential some activities are for the mental. For example, the mind can be relieved by going out with friends when things are stressful; this can replenish the mind and lead to faster progress than continuous studying.
In conclusion, the increased number of students and workers recently has led to a more competitive and difficult labour market, with more emphasis on constant learning and education. The result is ignoring a normal fun lifestyle. However, this can be managed by good time management and emphasis on the correlation between pleasure and health.
