Task description
As a part of a class assignment you have to write about the following topic. Millions of people every year move to English-speaking countries such as Australia, Britain or America, in order to study at school, college or university. Why do so many people want to study in English? Why is English such an important international language? give reasons for your answer.
You should write a minimum of 150 words.

Task answer
A huge number of the worldwide population annually seek education in prominent first-world English-speaking countries. There are many reasons as to why English is an essential language all around and a popular study dialect. Furthermore, the essay will provide insights on the rationale of such a phenomenon.
Firstly, English is widely regarded as the main international dialect because of its effects on education, politics, research, and career opportunities globally. Many international companies require English for communication, as it's considered the language of business, technology, and science. In addition to that, a lot of content on the internet is in English; therefore, access to news and resources requires good knowledge of the language. For example, a recent British study compared the languages of different content within social media apps; the result was over 63% of resources online were in English. Moreover, politically, English is the main working language employed by world organizations like the WHO, the EU, and the UN.
For such reasons, many students prefer to seek education in English-speaking countries. In general, those countries provide graduates there with better career opportunities and stronger economic growth than third-world countries. In addition to that, the most prominent and highly ranked universities are located in the UK and the US, such as Harvard University and Oxford University. An American study showed 40% of admissions in the year 2022 within northern states were from international students. An important fact to consider is that most generations tend to study English from a very young age. Therefore, many are already fluent, making it a much better option than learning a whole language from scratch.
In conclusion, the English language has played a vital role in world economics, politics, and technology. Young generations tend to learn such a language earlier in life, adding to the simplicity of utilizing it. Together with the superior economical situation in English-speaking countries, the popularity of seeking a new life and education there is constantly on the rise.
