Task answer

It is argued by some people that taking photographs of famous people by professional photographers is a good thing, while others disagree. The contrasting opinions could arise from the public having different values and beliefs. While some arguments may support the idea of taking photos of famous people everywhere they go, I believe that famous people also deserve privacy. Firstly, being photographed everywhere they go may keep famous people accountable for their actions and moral values. Doing so may reveal personality traits that could have been unnoticed by the public before. This is especially valid for fans who see their favourite celebrities as their role model. Secondly, taking photos of famous people may promote personal branding and influence the public. For example, airport fashion is very common amongst K-POP fans as they get inspiration on how their favourite idols dress up at the airport, giving more fashion ideas. This might make some styles or actions trendy while linking to a specific celebrity, increasing their social branding and popularity. On the other hand, having paparazzi everywhere they go means risking the invasion of privacy, which may affect their loved ones. For example, Ahmad Sahroni, a former Indonesian politician, had his house vandalised, and his personal items were stolen during a protest in Indonesia. This incident not just affected him but also his wife and children, who were innocent. Furthermore, paparazzi would deteriorate celebrities' mental health and well-being, as they are still human beings. Just like everyone else, celebrities also need their alone time to destress and calm themselves, so they can reappear to the public at their best state. In conclusion, while it is acceptable to take photos of famous people to a certain extent, it is not negotiable once it involves their private lives. Hence, I believe that famous people should not be photographed professionally everywhere they go.
